My name is Joey Harty, and I’ve dedicated my career to helping athletes and teams unlock their true potential — spending nearly 15 years bridging the gap between sport science, physical preparation, and on-field performance in elite sporting environments. My career includes serving as Director of Sports Performance and Science at Sporting Kansas City in Major League Soccer for the past 7 seasons, where I oversaw programs from the youth academy level to the senior team, focusing on maximizing performance and minimizing injury through evidence-based methods.
As a high-performance director and industry leader, my experience is grounded in roles of athletic development, strength and conditioning, human movement science, and applied sport science. My experience working with both emerging youth athletes and veteran professionals in their late 30s and 40s has allowed me to adapt complex principles across age groups, competition levels, and performance demands.
Alongside my extensive practical experience, I hold a Master’s degree in Human Movement Science and multiple certifications across speed and power development, corrective exercise, injury prevention, and nutrition. I am also recognized as both a Certified Performance & Sport Scientist (CPSS) and a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) — two gold-standard credentials within the field.
I am the Founder of Harty Performance, a platform built to make a broader impact by supporting a wider range of athletes, coaches, and teams — with the same passion, precision, and attention to detail that I brought to the professional level.
At Harty Performance, we believe that principles rooted in physiology and biomechanics are the foundation of high performance. Simply put, we provide the systems and strategies to maximize performance and reduce injury risk, helping athletes and coaches make sense of the science behind success.
We deliver online, in-person, and hybrid training solutions for high-performing athletes seeking individualized programs to drive development year-round. I take pride in translating sport science into actionable methods that improve how athletes train, recover, and sustain performance across demanding seasons. We also pride ourselves in curating specific plans around helping athletes come back from injury.
In addition to athlete development and end stage rehabilitation, we provide consulting and educational services for collegiate and professional soccer programs — focusing on in-season planning, periodization, and tailored recommendations across recovery, nutrition, conditioning, and strength training.
My mission is simple: to bring clarity, purpose, and precision to the training process — helping coaches and athletes make sense of the details that drive consistent high performance.
